It’s still going on and the people doing it don’t seem to understand why the viewers at home and the fans who stay until the horn sounds, win or lose, are appalled by this. They paid for their tickets so of course they have the right to stay for as long or short a time as they wish. Agreed. You do as you wish. Just know that the rest of us have the right to criticize you for insulting the people at home and the team when you do this.
What the traffic beaters fail to understand is that Pens tickets are expensive and hard to come by at times, especially at an affordable price. I am fortunate that I am able to attend about 10 games or so a year via ticket holders that I know. I pay well above face though more often than not. But when I am there, I am not just there to watch hockey. It is an experience that I savor. I soak up every minute of being in that building. Hockey is unpredictable. People were leaving early last night when the game was so close! The Coyotes game the other night was determined by a goal with a fraction of a second left in regulation by Brad Richards for the Rangers to win and avoid overtime. That is unfathomable.
The other night, Consol was emptying (pics in my game recap) and tons of people missed Evgeni Malkin’s 7th career hat trick and an additional goal by Chris Kunitz for good measure. Glad you got to keep your hats, people.
So why do you think people are leaving early?
